Dr. Tay has been practicing Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in the San Jose area since July of 2004. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology at the University of California at Davis in 1993. Dr. Tay received his MD at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 1998. He then came back to California for his general surgery training at the UCSF-Fresno program. He sub-specialized in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery by completing his fellowship training at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Dr. Tay is dual Board Certified in General Surgery and Vascular Surgery, a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery.
Dr. Tay currently practices at Regional Medical Center of San Jose, O’Connor Hospital, and Good Samaritan Hospital. He currently holds many hospital positions including Chair of the Division of General Surgery as well as the Medical Director of the Diagnostic Vascular Laboratory at Regional Medical Center of San Jose. He is a member of the endovascular committees at both Regional Medical Center of San Jose and O’Connor Hospital. Dr. Tay’s active involvement in the leadership of the San Jose area hospitals helps keep him at the forefront of quality vascular and endovascular surgery care.
Dr. Tay’s primary practice is in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery which includes carotid procedures, aneurysm procedures, and evaluation and treatment of arterial and venous diseases. He uses the latest technologies including catheter-based minimally invasive approaches and open surgery when appropriate. Advanced techniques are used such as endovascular stent-graft repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, carotid artery stenting, along with use of laser and advanced devices for both peripheral arterial and venous diseases.
